Twenty Four

Twenty four years ago today, I was searching for pure love;

Cupid must have felt my need, and shot two arrows from above!

One was for me, to steer my course, to a Boston singles dance;

The other was to send you there too, to search for some romance!

Then by design, we somehow met, with six hundred others all around;

We danced as we held each other close, we felt our hearts begin to pound!

We never left each other’s sides, we talked the night away;

At two a.m. we kissed goodnight, then met for dinner later that day!

We dined and talked, then came home, to hold and kiss a bit;

The next night was Halloween, you met me at a costume dance for it!

We stayed together till four a.m., we kissed a lot, then said goodnight;

Seven hours later we met to spend the day, and visit an historic site!

We drove to Rockport on the sea, we stood by it and kissed;

We ate some clam chowder to warm us up, our passion could not be missed!

Then we drove to “Old Bean Town”, for hot sake,  food and lots of hugs;

We had to part at nine p.m., our hearts filled with heavy tugs!

The next day, Monday, we met again, at your house; I brought champagne;

We pledged our love eternally, you vowed to grow your mane!

Today is October twenty ninth, twenty four years since that night we first met;

And Cupid daily sends his arrows down, two souls forever set!
