Twenty Three Skidoo

I have but one regret, about marrying you, on this date in ninety-three;

It’s that we didn’t meet when we were young, then this would have been our Golden Fifty!

These twenty-three years have been the best of my life, it just took a long time for my quest;

But the night I met you, I saw it end, I’d encountered the “best of the best”!

It took us not long to promise our hearts, a testimonial to “true love at first sight”;

We met on a Thursday, at a large “singles” dance, and were engaged by that Monday night!

For it took us only four love filled days, to know we’d been guided by Heavens up above;

To finally find our dear soulmates, and to realize our destiny’s eternal love!

Now for two decades plus three years, we’ve shared our lives, in harmony’s way;

Now only rarely, need I take a trip, we’re together for twenty four hours a day!

And not one of them passes, without having some fun, side by side, our interests the same;

I look forward each night for the next one to start, and I can be with my beautiful dame!

So, my dear soulmate, on this special day, when we honor the vows that we took;

I want you to know, how happy I am, that we both fell with just the first look!

And maybe someday, if our bodies hold up, we’ll make it to that “Golden Fiftieth Year”;

We’ll drink some champagne, hold tight and kiss, and whisper “I’ll love you forever, my dear”!
