Twilight

From my Raven Collection

Twilight

That, in which is lost
faded with time
like the sun, at dusk
uncertain of when
there will be exact darkness
all the while
knowing it will certainly arrive

when the last light
falls asleep
I can hear a distant lullaby
far, far away soothing my pain
yet, it’s hollow and unjust

waiting for that magic moment
re-inventing my aches and sorrow
with new beginnings.

Shirley! What GORGEOUS writing! I loved that(had to keep it for future reads). I was just stunned by the wording of that middle stanza, but in whole, incredible writing! Great job!

Matthew.

Dear Mathew thank you, I believe I too am very fond of that stanza, when we eventually find peace within yet we know that it won't last. I'm just cheering up everyone's day 🤣 thank you so much dear Poet. 🌹

Sometimes sorrow is better to have than say, angst. Sorrow is soulful. Not everyone is that.

My dear Rory, so very true, I guess writing this one I had thoughts of the current war situation. You really see the soul of my poetry dear friend. Thank you. 🌹

I'm loving ( is that the wrong word for grief poetry?) your Raven collection Shirley, I feel every feeling you express in my soul.

Awe, dearest Marion, your words truly mean so much, to touch another with my words is all I could ever hope for dear friend, it's not the wrong word at all because I love it too, it came from one poem I wrote and now I have enough for a small book. Thank you for your gracious encouragement always. 🌹
