Poem -

Two People and A Rubber Band

When I was younger, I used to play a game which required two people and a rubber band. Both people had to grab one end of the rubber band and the objective was to pull farther and farther, trusting that the other person would not let go. As I grew older, I realized that love is much like this game. 'Pulling farther and farther' also feels like becoming more vulnerable, allowing the other person to see all sides of you, still trusting that no matter how far or in what direction you pull, that they won't let go. If they do let go, in both cases of the rubberband and love, it will snap back at you and you will feel the pain. Though, the beautiful part of the game is that when you're pulling farther and farther you have the idea that it can snap back at you, yet you allow yourself to simply trust.
