TWO YEARS AGO

Two years ago the family went into their flat 
Nothing remarkable or inspiring about that  
The sad part is they would never get out alive 
Them with seventy two others who didn't survive 

Of course I'm referring to the fire at Grenfell Tower 
A tragedy that occurred at an early hour  
Two years on let's say a prayer and not forget 
The tragedy still haunts I'm willing to bet 

What would you say if it happened to you ? 
What final actions would you do ? 
Sad doesn't come close on that fateful day 
Police and politicians will have their say 

Rest in peace for all those that died 
I remember the day well for I cried and cried
