Unfamiliar Ground

It is hard to believe where I have been

The many different cultures I have seen

Travelling to escape the turmoil of my past

The distances I have covered are vast

They say if you seek then you shall find

But I've yet to discover another state of mind.

I am what they determine to be a restless soul 

Searching committedly for an elusive goal

I seek a place where I can be content and free

Freed from all the torment that troubles me

I'm not sure such a destination is to be found 

Perhaps I'll always be treading unfamiliar ground.
