Poem -

Unfinished

Cascading fountain of youth neglecting humdrum silhouettes

Portrayed by bountiful nothingness the frost burns her forgotten skin

Sediments of empty matter adorned by wrinkles of yesterday’s promise

But moon hides tomorrow’s sun leaving only paranoid shadow

So long lives the wondering night

Eyes sealed until repetitious morning repeating yesterday’s infinite vision

Woman stands with chalk board hands staring in silence at jumbled voices above

Sporadic invasions of transparency torn apart by rolled eyes neglect

Remembrance of train whistles and rope beyond stream hurdles

Wisped hair brushed away from face as Popsicle drips and stains her white dress

Newness glistens in naĂŻve eyes for she is but a phantom of all that was

Perfected nothingness of foreshadowed beginnings

Endless racing clocks searching for exit signs

Leading to crisscrossed comfort locked down by Pandora’s daydreams

Pigments of hope blinded by nostalgia

All while cat scratches locked doors

And breakfast goes stale atop unfinished countertops
