Unique? Earth?

Look up, see the vastness,
Deepest darkest skies,
Sprinkled with billions of stars,
Galaxies, nebular, planets.
Ā
The question whirling around & around,
Are we alone? Are we really alone?
Are we that unique?
Is Earth a miracle?
Ā
Sprinkle billions of seeds into the ground,
Then...imagine each seed is a galaxy,
Ask, can only one of those seeds grow a shoot?
Ā
Only one shoot? From billions & billions of seeds?
Look up again, imagine the vastness now as a field of shoots.
Ā
On each growing shoot,Ā
Someone, something, is looking out into the vastness too,
Ā Askingā¦. are we alone?Ā

With you here Tracy...I am ancient alien all the way...there is much more to our reality than we will ever understand in this life....hugs š
Absolutely Marion, Iām so intrigued about all things universe & other life out there. Itās a bit narcissistic to think we are just it, nothing else. I so glad you enjoyed the poem xx
" It would be a big waste of space" liked!
Thanks so much Jim š x
Haha! Inside joke eh Jim?! XD
An outside joke sir Fish! lol! no disrespect Tracey, I'm just giving it back to sir Fish!
haha! XD, yeah sorry Tracey, we are referring to one of the Jims poems, kudos to you for being an awsome poet again and fab write. The Fish of the Sea.
This is such an astonishing write. A clear reminder that awesome poems don't need to be long or complex to be extremely powerful and unique. I especially like the seed analogy, so very very clever. I enjoyed it a lot. Kind regards. The Fish of the Sea,
Thanks so much for your appreciation & kind words, The Fish Of The Sea. Yes I wanted to create a relatable vision with the seeds analogy. Itās a bit different for me but I enjoyed writing it š x
Awww no problem Tracey! A deserving poem, it's great that you try new things, really broadens your pen. Interested to have a look at your other works. Kind regards. The Fish of the Sea.
Hi Tracey, hope you are very well and that everything is great for you. This is a great write and very relevant at the moment with NASA landing on Mars yesterday in their search for life, how exciting! I enjoyed reading this poem that provides food for thought and stimulates the imagination. Let“s hope that NASA find something. Thanks for posting! xx
Hi Tony! I hope you are keeping well & safe. Howās things going with the pandemic in Spain? Weāre still in lockdown here. Thank you so much for your appreciation of my poem. Yes, I watched the perseverance landing live stream. It was incredible. Love all things NASA & space. Iām looking forward to the scientific results on Mars. This poem is featured in my Visions of Sound episode on mixcloud. Give it a listen, I hope you like it. Poems meet music! Itās a brilliant concept. The Visions of a Sound team did a brilliant job for me. Keep safe & well xĀ https://m.mixcloud.com/VISIONSofSOUND/visionsofsound-episode-06-featuring-tracey-goundrill/ Ā
Hi Tracey! Hope you are very well and taking care. The situation here in Spain is similar to when the UK had the tier system, my area, which is Andalucia has enjoyed some relaxing of restrictions but I“m expecting to be back in full lock down soon. As well as the pandemic we have had to endure a series of powerful eathquakes with up to 200 tremors in some cases. There has been much structural damage but no casualties thankfully. My town has been the epicentre would you believe! The town is situated where the European and African tectonic plates join. Yesterday I explored an area where you can clearly see the fault lines of the plates. At the moment life has become, get up, survive, go to bed! :) I loved reading your poem, so relevant at the moment and like you love all things NASA and space, exciting times indeed. I listened to your poem and Vision of Sound episode, absolutely amazing, like being taken on a journey, a beautiful experience that brings the poem to life and enhances the imagery that the poetry conjures up. Thank you for sharing it with me, much appreciated and means a lot. Thank you! You too keep safe and well and I am looking forward to reading and listening to more of your work. xx
