Poem -

Unknown

Not a dime in my pocket but I have a rich soul

Had a great life that I’m not ready to let go

But there comes a time when the good Lord calls you home

No sorrow, no pain, just a place full of unknown

It’s the mystery of the place that keeps me awake

Lying in bed, death stricken from head to my feet

But alas I can see the tunnel light starting to shine

A life well spent; a life I call mine

It is the great unknown that keeps me awake

Lying in bed I’m beginning to shake

Death once slumbered by me but now is awake

For this may be my last breath I take

Into a deep slumber that I will not awake

For my friends and family do not shed a tear

Before you know it death too will be near
