Unravelling

It's unravelling this life I'm travellingĀ
Bitter almonds on the tongue of uncertainty
Unsung heroes line the way
Battle weary deign to stay
So many paths untrodden
Destiny unfolds in the eyes of the beholder
A servant of time; an abuser of rhymeĀ
Sugared epithets line the pathĀ
From long dead favoured poets
Dreams hung out to dry
Against the cerulean blue of the Summer sky
Thoughts push their way through treacle
Battling to see the light of day
Memories sink through long lost recall
Hope recounts there is a way but maybe not today
Will there be verse in the back of the hearse?
It's an uncertain future
Primroses and Elderflowers Mark out May
Blue butterflys all out at play
Writers block marked by the clock
Reams of paper line the bin
Thoughts escaping full to the brim
It's unravelling this life I'm travellingĀ
Unfurling from the coreĀ
Like a crazy contorted maze
Of unborn thoughts through the haze..

Hi D.D.!!
This felt like a barrage of VERY poetic thoughts and images flying at the reader rapid-speed!!....... the 'Writers Block' shining through it all as if to say......"Control is the issue here!!"...... there's something haunting about this piece that rings true to the ear and is truly compelling!!.......ALL STARS!!...... wow!!.......T xo ?ā“ā¤
Hi Tony
Many thanks for taking time to read my mornings write. I very much appreciate yourĀ time. DD x
DD every time I feel that life is unravelling it somehow weeves back together and as for being an abuser of rhymes if your words are abuse it is the kindest and most lyrical I have ever read.
Your friendĀ
NigelĀ
Dearest Nigel you are too kind. But yes on the road of inevitablity life invariably rights itself. I've just began reading a book by Jason Elliot -- Mirrors of the Unseen journeys in Iran and on the front page there are a couple of lines in Farsi "The harvest from the fields of space and time is not that much. Bring on the wine: the world's affairs do not amount to much "...
A wonderful piece of workĀ
Thanks so much Kieran. Very much appreciate your feedback. Enjoy the weekend! DD x
Hi DD. I can definitely relate to this piece. I love the lines
Brilliant!
- SydĀ
Thanks Syd. Yes some days it's like that. Glad it resonates with you and I'm not the only treacle fighter ;-) DD x
