Untamed

Untamed

What a strange morning

The paper arrived late

The milk is sour

The electricity went off

It's not even Friday the 13th

I checked my calendar

It's the day before

The cat ran out the door

I'm wondering what it is

Are the planets aligning

Is my brain lying

What is it that is so defying,

I looked up my birth certificate

The date had been changed

Everything has been rearranged

As if; as if to say

The next president will be deranged

I went to the mirror

It wasn't me

But an alien from planet V

And I wandered, I wandered

Through the landscape

And the red dust

These forty years

Untamed
