Untitled

I should've seen the warning sign

Her blood-shot stop light sojourner

Eyes.

She clipped her wings at the door on the corner of my midnight sanctuary.

Weary in the dim infancy of the morning I saw headlines in the wasted night

You're memories have been forsaken

I played the one-eyed jack twice a week for the mild masses.

Broke though you know I had enough for making this moment a memory. Cause in this town the only currency is comradery

She said she thought about me while I wasn't around. The little things that made her laugh. Now she doesn't make a sound.  Trapped behind an unlocked door she swore she loved me. She didn't love me not even before. We spent half a night together one night. That was all. I thought her eyes were to pretty for the lies she told, the ones I'd heard before.

She spends more time in bed with me now than she ever did before.  She's more at home in a nightmare than what I thought was a home.
