Poem -

Untitled

I'm ready to board the
train Standing at the station
Waiting on the corner is
The black dog called depression

I'm going on a journey I
said
I need to be alone
"Why don't I come with you' he said
" You'll never make it on your own".

"Black dog ", I said " why don't you leave me be"
"Why should I?" he said
"Because you'll always need me".

Thanks Tony for your comments on my poem. I'm new to this writing lark so I didn't know how people would react to it. I've suffered depression and anxiety and realise that in today's society it isn't considered a serious illness.
i just wanted to express how depression also referred to as the " black dog" makes you feel when it gets a hold of your life.
