UNTITLED

You can’t suck the venom from my heart
The past has set you and I apart
Silver tears won’t wash these sins away
Your memories are here to stay
Blinded by my illusive smiles
I haven’t felt happiness in a while
Cannot escape this box
Stuck on the time of broken clocks
Fed crisp golden lies
I’ve been sleeping on cloudy skies
Consumed by love’s dark holes
Our once blessed now cursed souls
Reality; a plane neither of us could perceive
Just innocent children—more or less naïve
In the end, we brought ourselves demise
Caught up on the promise of a better life
Too busy searching for everyone else
You managed to lose me, as well as yourself
How could you not grasp, the foul stench of fear
That accumulated over the years?
Am I a mere doll—no more, no less.Â
Meticulously crafted only to possess
The fabrications of a moment’s happiness?
But my woes I can no longer suppress

Miranda!  This poem is seeped in so much sadness!  It is the slow, persistent deterioration of a relationship.  Love your line "fed crisp golden lies"…yes, I know how those lies are beautifully poured as if the liar is anointing you with a healing balm!
Excellent write!
