Valentine or Hell

Five hundred miles have I walked
over scat mountains, arctic tundras, the wild untamed.
The scent of gunpowder alerts my troubled brain,
memories etched forever crossing the Devil’s domain.
Spirits old spirits new,
the wind carries them to the grey moon.
The Skull Hunter laughs,
soon it will be just you,
unless I’m one of the collared few.
I fear not man, not beast, not the good,
maybe little girls in the hood.
Loneliness is what I feared, looking back,
I miss running,playing with my pack.Â
Day and night my shadow follows the deadly Snake,
it swallows cottonwood like pieces of Devil’s cake.
Our wounds become our worldly scarsÂ
It makes us who we really are.
The wind, the rain, the frost they are my friend,
Hiding my journey from home to land’s end.
Traps and bates try to seal my fate,
I need no collar to find my soulmate.
Search I did no signs in Hell,
I followed your overpowering smell
and when we met you looked so fine.
Eyes of fire, my mate till the end of time.
Even a lone wolf needs a Valentine.
