Vampiress

She tastes the air with her tongue. It is the night of the young. Little ones giggling over tricks and  treats. But she hungers for a different  sweet. A little one has strayed away. She waits in the dark. She has found her prey. Silently she creeps near. The child's unaware. She wraps her fingers in the girl's hair. "Come to me my sweet!" " I am sorry, but it's time to eat." The child looks up in confusion and fear. A beautiful siren floats from above staring at her with hateful love. She grabs her, the child screams but only makes a gurgling sound. She lifts her swiftly off the ground. They disappear into the night. In the arms of death embraced tight.
