VIOLENT RED

Do you remember basic training
Where they treated us like shite
then they sent us to the trenches
and instructed us to fight

Did we even know what war was
At the age of 17
and if I can recall right
none had ever met the queen

Or was it king I am unsure
Us being lads
from lowly class

All that bollocks about politics
That made us brave and crass
and look...

the world's still fkn at it
sending men and women too
To do the dirty bollocks of the
ruling elite few
Still,

We've properly earned our poppies
For all prosperity
who can ask for more that that
We're heros boys you see

seems we're heros now we're dead
they sure are pretty, violent red ...

Like blood.

The whole world knows Nev... that's why we wear poppies. It eases the shame of our inability to be anything other that the war mongering violent horrible species that we are and to rid ourselves of the relatively few elite who doom the rest of us... continually. The hypocrisy is appalling x

Incredibly powerful and true, I only hope we are not moving towards the 3rd after the recent US elections 🌹

So true, Marion. Well spoken. You spoke for them, and honoured them.  B
