Poem -

W A I T

Wait.

W A I T I N G for the day

To chase away the dark that resides behind his eyes T W A train passes.

But you donโ€™t

W A I To

Find the night and steal it

From the waves that crash

Inside his head.

That hide behind his flesh.

Wait.

W A I T I N Gย for the train to stop.

But it doesnโ€™t W A I T for you,

Youโ€™ve got nowhere else to B E L I E V E that youโ€™re

Finally H A P P why am I crying?

Now.

Temporaril E N O U G H of him for you to climb up.

Up.

Up.

Where you W A I T for him to reach higher beforeย his

Breath knocks you back down.

Down.

Down.

You land,

Locked in a chest with the K E why cant I find it?

The way to escape.

The way to speculate

Of what is outside of the boxย

I hide in.

I cannot see the S K why is it missing?

You donโ€™t need me and neither do I T W A I T

I didnโ€™t mean that.

Wait.

Waiting for the tides to slide across the sand

Show the foot steps.

Steps.

Stepping.

Running out of

Holes to

burn. Making tears in the net

E N O U G H

For the bluebird to leave his nest.

Every step.

Step.

Stepping.

A flame in your chest.

It F L I know youโ€™re left behind.

There wonโ€™t ever be a reason to S T O People

Move.

Move until the E N Donโ€™t know which side youโ€™re leaning on.

The truth,

The Lies,

The phases of H A P P why am I writing

Lines of P O E T R why are they hidden in the back of your brain?

Too.

Too afraid.

Too much care.

Too much.

Playing with keys.

With strings.

With lights that donโ€™t

Go out. With notes ย you canโ€™t hit.

Wait

W A I T I N G for something bigger than myself.

Wait

W A I Ting for something more substantial than the

Pencil in my hand and the canvas of your S K I Not

E N O U G H paper to tell stories of you.

I B E L I E V in what I conceive.

The sunset behind your eyes is pink. Just like the words

Inspired by it.

Paint me like your S K why canโ€™t I see you at night?

W A I T I N G to hear your thoughts in the stars. Your

Kisses in the dark.

Though we are apart

I still count the moons in your heart.

Youโ€™re fit to burst.

Youโ€™re falling apart.

A cloud passes through my M I N Donโ€™t

W A I T

For me to blow it A W A why wonโ€™t it go?

It waits to dissipate.

To dissolve the haze from your eyes. Breathing in a

Breath that was once mine. I want you

To take it.

Donโ€™t W A I T.

Wait.

Waiting for a hand to hold.

For lips to kiss

Wait for a heart to love.

Donโ€™t W A I T.

You are E N O U G H

To B E L I E V E

You are H A P P why am I so L O N E L

Why am I so alone?
