Walking Through The Dark

Walking through the darkest night, 

Not even stars to shed some light, 

What has happened to the light of day, 

That now only darkness can stay? 

Trudging on, for hours, days, weeks, 

Yet farther still the darkness sneaks, 

Head down, walk on, endure it all, 

Someday the darkness has to fall...

Just keep on walking, walking through, 

The end of this is over due, 

There has to be light for shadows to be made, 

Just have to find where the light has stayed... 

Still walking, still waiting, still pitch black night, 

Maybe I'll never make it to the light... 

Now just stop, just sit and think, 

How did I get to the darkest brink? 

Thinking, thinking, thinking of you, 

Thinking of how you made my dreams come true, 

Thinking of so many people, so many things, 

A fragile smile this memory brings. 

The more I think, the more I smile, 

The darkness thinning all the while, 

Remembering everything I have, but didn't see, 

While the darkness was covering me. 

Now the world is bright once more, 

Only memories of the dark that came before. 

The light was trapped inside, 

The light I had, but had forced to hide, 

Wanting more, but getting caught in the night, 

Never again will I forget about my light.
