Wall Street

Wall Street

I am walking up the concreteĀ
stepsĀ
Grey and bitterĀ
This is not GodĀ

Taking the elevatorĀ
Looking over the metropolisĀ
The jungle concreteĀ
This is not God

Driving down Wall Street
Past the exchangeĀ
The numbersĀ
This is not God

Tacos from cornerĀ
Wall and MaidenĀ
The truck stop
This is not God

it made me smile to think that God hasĀ

the intuition or senseĀ

to step off the grey brittle concreteĀ
