Poem -

Wandering Mind

How to Calm a Wandering Mind,
authored through half its chapters
In a lonely cabin
off the road just behind.

Where the feeble hero paused to find,
His words of wisdom
long lost and shattered.

Scattered...
Like broken chimes...

of a grandfather clock,
Ringing...
on borrowed time.

Synchronized, if only for a moment,
but still a moment too few.
For his wandering mind
could be calm no more.

As he penned his last how to.

Being Me

Oh, very well written, John! This expresses both scene and feelings extremely well. And I love the rhyme scheme in this — it really works! Fabulous poem x
