Warmth

02/04/2021

Warmth

Warmth cometh,

 from many a thing.

Warmth warms every human being.

Warmth from a fire,

As songs are sung,

And shadows flicker in the flames that are dwindling.

All it needs is to stoke it,

Is logs,

Branches and kindling.

Where old stories are told,

And myths from the past.

Each new story,

With different endings,

No matter how vast!

My heart warms each and every time we are together,

My partner and I that is.

I could be anywhere and I’d be in a happy place,

Just me and my loved one,

 Liz.

Ride and die together,

Although it’s no race.

That’s us into the future,

Not back!

Finally now we both have found home in the same place.

Although we live separately,

As each of our homes,

Are in a different place.

So this warmth is the conditional warmth,

That in any relationship should be commonplace.

The unconditional love for my boys,

Is set in stone.

They are my pack of cards,

With each,

Being an Ace!

I get my breath taken away,

Each and every time,

I step out of an air-conditioned plane.

The heat literally leaves you breathless until your body adjusts.

As the blanket of hazy heat,

Neutralising your lungs,

From the sudden temperature change.

It only lasts,

Luckily for a little while,

Until your body's back to ones old self again.

When in the searing heat though,

Please forgive me if i get agitated,

Or just don’t seem the same.

As i get used to it quick,

Before it drives me,

Round the bend,

insane!

Warmth,

In a sizzling sort of way!

Then we have the fake warmth,

That each of our homes,

Produce in abundance.

Whilst peering out of the window,

To a bleak,

Cold and dreary,

Blustery day.

Sat inside by chance?

Only if i don’t have cold nights coaching football,

Or in the morning,

Even when jack frost,

Is dancing his merry icicle dance.

I love the warmth of a snuggle with Liz under the duvet,

Within her seductive and mesmerising,

Yet massively Warming and lovely grasp.

These are just a few of the warmths,

Free,

From mother earth.

The cold is one of its' taunts,

So I prefer the warmth of a nice and homely hearth.

Aye, like how you supported me in the beginning, I never have stopped reading your work. You are an inspiration to me. Sometimes people swim away, I love the artists on Cosmos and enjoy being one to reel the nets sometimes. XD, keep up the fantastic writing. Really enjoyable for me.
