Poem -

Warrior so dark

In  Lympstone----the rolling hills meet the sea

The boats touched by sun

20 years ago before he passed my way----

And I thought he was the One.

He came here

And ran and trained and fought----

20 years before I loved Him more than I ought

He lived and loved

His friends left their mark

Strong and Handsome as I Loved Him

Warrior so Dark.

This is a poem about a relationship I had many years ago. I went to a lovely family wedding in Lympstone 2 years ago and driving there saw the young men at Lympstone waiting to be trained to become Royal Marines. The poem draws on that he was there 20 years before doing the exact same very tough training.

This poem came to me later. The imagery is about the beautiful scenery of the estuary.

The makings of a Marine

Sea and memories,

Left their mark,

Boy to Man,

conceived so dark.

Handsome...

You love is a shame

Do you think we don't know you Tell everything to her?

We won't be surprised when you end up...

Old friends are pure Gold

Everyday in everyway I love more

real love is nearer

Love will out and it did.
