Poem -

Washing, scrubbing...

Washing, scrubbing...

Paranoia... wash... wash...wash
Scrubem’ soapy “Oh golly gosh”
Roundabout and in-between
coz “You never know where that has been ?”
Sanitizer is all sold out there is none left without a doubt
But good old fashioned soap and water will kill the germs like lambs to the slaughter

But have you rubbed them long enough ?
Your hands look sore and red with rough
So you dry them with a towel but has someone else used that you scowl
Off you go again to grab the soap what a pain
Your out of your mind with anxiety
coz this infections spreading rapidly

So this time you’ve washed them sore now your poor flesh can take no more
Don’t touch the towel, leave them to dry
You’ve done your best, you fret and sigh
Then a delivery man knocks on your front door, he’s left your shopping outside on the floor
You wipe each item with a swipe with those Detol swabs you know the type

Your turning into a neurotic freak
you’ve got OCD so to speak
Yet compulsive disorder is a must incase these germs lurk amidst daily dust
All day long you wash your hands coz everybody understands
that good hygiene kills Corvid-19
so the secret is to keep them clean
Every time you touch and feel it starts an ever-ending spinning wheel
Washing, scrubbing, lathering soap
but you’ve done your best you live in hope

The whole thing, Greg...Happy birthday to me, happy birthday to me.. happy birthday to me..ee  Happy birthday to me...that...twice!  I think it was Boris Johnson told us that... ( although he's in intensive care now...hope he gets well soon).

You said happy birthday three times
That’s fine the way you do it and I was told 20 second so I count to 25 when I wash my hands that seems long enough I’ve been watching a video on how to do it and they only wash it for seven count  long enough

What I meant was...the whole song "Happy Birthday"...sing it twice!  Doing this takes 20 seconds apparently...so same advice just different ways of timing. Your way is just as good my friend x

Hi Jill..I always wash my hands as soon as I get home from the grocery store.  I am home all the time except to go get groceries.  I am careful not to rub my face and wash for a long time at the sink, then again after putting groceries up...If we just stay calm and follow the procedures of six feet apart and stay at home as much as possible, it should eventually give the virus no more people to infect as it dies off from the ones who recover.  I enjoy being home, in nature and working from home, so it does not bother me except when I miss friends and family coming over.  I pray for all the doctors, nurses, EMTs, Paramedics, who are exposed daily to the risk of contracting it.

Even as a child, my mom taught us to sing the Happy Birthday song while we wash our hands to be sure we give the soap a chance to kill all the germs.  Funny how those silly things can now save lives.  xo Love n Hugs
