Waves

Waves

Watching the waves crash against the rock

I sit to ponder, trying to deal with the shock.

We used to wander along this coastline

Planning how we would use our precious time

Then all hopes and dreams ended that day

When tragic circumstances took you away.

The turbulence of nature and the tides break

Epitomizes the extent of turmoil and heartache.

...........................................................

So now I listen to the sounds of the sea

Doing my best to cope with fates brutality.

The sea reflects my mood, this stormy winter

As anger and frustration cause me to splinter.

A broken soul, that has lost its purpose to live

Knowing from now on, I'll struggle to forgive.

After all that has come to pass and all I have lost

It is here, at the waters edge, I reflect on lifes cost.

RW!   These beautiful rhyming couplets flow so well.   What a heart aching write…the pain of lost echoes as the waves burst against the rocks…the tide always returns to the edge where you face the memory again in its reflection. Sometimes one is hard pressed to find comfort in tragedy.
