Poem -

We Don't Need A Third Moses

River of Life,

Do I have to dash my head again to bring you forth

I have already been cracked open by self-harm in a desert void of love before

And yet here we are thristing again

I shall not grumble as times past

I shall not put this hardship upon the flesh once more

Instead I will give thanks with a grateful heart

I will march on to the promised land

Egypt has been buried with Sodom

One cup of saltiness for my tears is all we need

Milk and honey are ours up ahead

Let the breeze be my thousand seraphs

To catch me when I trip

Whispering healing for the soul

Lightenning the burden at my hip

And let sun that burns become purifying flames

That turn my ashen thoughts to gold

Inscribe on history's stage my new and noble name

I trust you'll spring up along the way

As I carry this carcass down Via Rosa today

He who loses his life shall find it

I am just a camel here

A ship with humble cargo seeking an islet

To plant my oasis seeds
Ā
And escape the hands of the cherubim
