Grey skies of

Flashes of light

Across the clouds

In the silent of nights

Rocks big enough

For men to hide

Flat down ready

Waiting for the 

Enemy to come near

Shooting of guns

Black smoke

and gases

Fires of powder

Left behind

Wounded soilders

Laying and resting

Taking their last

and final breath

Defending our country

and a whole lot more

These were the days of war
