Weaver Bird

Weaver Bird

By the side of a river
On the branch of a Banyan  tree,
a weaver bird built a nest;

 Tempest raged over,
 Uprooting the Banyan tree
falling on my thatched hut,  Alas !

Whilst I sat desperate and brokenhearted
Found the bird picking up twigs and leaves
To build the nest anew !
