Poem -

WERE YOU CRYING?

Did you cry last night when you went to bed ?
So many thoughts must have entered your head
The first time in ten weeks you met your kids
Far more valuable than antiques and quids

Keeping to the rules you were two metres apart
Social distancing playing havoc with your heart
Finding a field for a spot of late lunch
Crying inside would be my hunch

The sun was out as if the weather knew
All the anguish this family had been through
When the bus came and it was time for you to go
Not kissing your kids goodbye the tears clearly on show
