West

West

sat in the German Gym,
outside Kings Cross,
sipping my champagne
cocktail, watching
'city' people come in,
for their early lunch,
or brunch..its expensive..
but I've saved for ages for
this trip, they don't know
I'm not lush, the gaiety of
it is impressive, aroma of
Italian coffee and Vienna schnitzel.
I would recommend the strudel..
although at a push cheese cake..
I hear the soft tones,
it's far from Bow Bells, though you
could walk down to Mile End,
if you fancied,..if you ask,
they all live on Shaftsbury Ave,
a bit like me sat here,
in a different world,
for just a small moment in time..
I am a West End girl..
