What A Shame...

You think the media really care about us
You think they'd shed a tear
If we were to die?
Polices supposed to protect us
But they creating more homicides
As I watch on tv my brothers die
Then they have the nerve to say
I had to do my job
I was "threaten"
Then the media suggestions the same
Leaving us in questions
Covering up questions
I thought life was our greatest blessing
But somehow we can't live our life
Because being black is its own weapon
And dying is our only lesson
But tell me what you expected
From a country that never liked us
Put us in chains
Letting us know they despised us
Putting us in handcuffs
Then they try to fight us
Boys losing their fathers
Girls losing their mothers
Tell me why we fight each other?
Where is the love? From God above
Please let it rain
Sorry for my brothers and sisters
Living in pain
Sorry that these polices
Still don't have shame
What a shame....
As I try to educate myself
I learned my blacks became
A salve to the wealth
Worried bout looks more than intelligence
So behind but we can get ahead again
And Jesus is our only medicine
Seems like history repeats it self
They kill us we do a few hash tags
Then delete ourselves
Cause a couple days later
We mistreat ourselves
Fighting with our brothers posting it
Thinking why they take us for a joke again
And I don't blame em what a shame
We can't change em with having no brains
Well atleast that what they think
Now tell me
What's the price for a black man life?
I know for that Jay you'll walk in the cold
And S/o to J Cole who stays bold
But what a shame we're getting old
And our freedom is like a rope
Who's really down to hold
People say they want change
But when it gets hard they fold
What a shame....
What a shame
