Do you love me?

Do you even care?

Can you hear me?

Do you see me?

Do you understand me?

Do you still want me?

Am I not good enough?

What do you want from me?

What must I do for you to accept me for who I am?

If you loved me or even cared,

You would listen to what I have to say.

You would see me for who I am

And you would endeavour to understand.

You would show that I was wanted,

Not say I was not planned. 

You would tell me what you wished of me,

And accept it if I could not achieve it in return.

You would not only see my flaws,

But also my other strengths.

You would praise me for what I can

And not what I could not.

All I need is love,

To be shown that you care,

To be acknowledged that you listen,

To be perceived that you do see,

Verbally confirmed that you comprehend,

Feel the hugs and kisses that you still want me,

To be told what you would like of me

And to be accepted if I cannot be perfect.

Help me find my way,

Be the torch I need in the darkness,

My protectors when in need,

The shoulders I need to cry on...

Be my parents...not my jailers.
