What is a poet?

I have poetic doubt
Please help me out
I don't feel like a poet
Should I speak different
I have dreams of not being alone
But yet to write, I need a aching soul
How do I find happiness?
When I seek the hopeless
Am I supposed to feel something
When I get called a poet?
I whisper to myself they're only words
But the people that read, love and hurt
I get embarrassed by this label
Does this make me unstable?
Every human has these feelings
If I write these, is it my weakness?
I had my time to be a childish fool
Family was my choice, so I grew
To write my stories and what's going on
Gives me a sense of pride of being strong
But I'll not accept this and I know it
This is why I don't feel like a poet
Am I that strange to embrace my pain
Or is it just me, I'm a weird old Wayne
Does success define who I am?
These words, I just live it
It's not enough, to be a poet
What is a poet?
