What it feels like

I always wondered what it would feel like to die.
Does your soul take off and fly?

Does the body feel the life drain out?
Are you even able to shout?

The memories must be relived.
As your senses begin to give.

The love, the pain
the wasted days of staying sane.

Your mind in its last minutes must ask
if you, in this humanely form, finished your assigned task.

You may wonder why you spent so much time
wondering what it feels like to die

Instead of feeling alive each day
during this incredibly brief stay……

What a poem!  Pondering what it feels like to die reinforces the sanctity of life. Life is, as they say, fleeting... too fleeting. I like how you handled this scenario. I look forward to reading more from you x
