Resolving solutions made during a New Yer's Eve bash
Places hope in possibilities of fame and showering cash
Leaving little to dream on, for the year to come
Praying for change with the rising sun
As I think of what it is I want the most though
I consider the life of my ferret Alfredo
With 90% sleep and 10% play
Different adventures begin every day
He travels around and stalks our toes
Never a bad day as he ages and grows
He knows comfort and peace in all things he may find
He is the best distraction for a worrisome mind
His psychotic playfulness and powerful sneeze
Will humble all macho men with a torturous tease
His ability to be cute as he attacks all feet
He evades arrest with a bouncing fleet
His simple life made profound by his size
Contains a powerful message we all need to realize
No matter the world and the problems we face
There will always be a comforting place
Whether it's home in a hammock
Or wherever you please
Nothing can be as horrible
As our minds make us see
As we all sit about and tempt the year to come
Think of Alfie and his mischievous bum
The money and fame, cars and vacations
Are solely for the need of unnecessary temptation
Food in our stomach and a roof over our head
Are blessings we are given with a comforting bed
Cherish what we have and look forward to good times
But never forget to consider all signs
