What Obama Did For America
Response inspired by Sparrowsong’s Question,
What did Obama do that was so great?
In 2008, Obama inherited a nightmare left to him by G.W. Bush. What had started out as a surplus left by Clinton, Bush managed in his eight years, to take this country into its’ greatest deficit ever known. Our great financial institutions were in trouble, the real estate market collapsed, and the American Automotive industry was dying. Yet, somehow, with a large Republican contingent that was hell bent on thwarting his every effort to reconstruct America, he achieved the following:
He saved Wall Street and the great financial institutions from collapse. His “bailout” also saved America from another depression. Had this collapse happened, investors would have lost billions, maybe trillions of dollars. Today, the bailout money has been paid back. The financial institutions are liquid, and Wall Street has the highest Dow Jones ever.
The American Automotive industry was in dire straights in 2008. Yet, today, sales are booming. Thanks to Obama’s bailout, all loans have been paid back to the government.
Unemployment as of last week, was well under 5%, a far cry from what it was in 2008.
Obamacare- Twenty million more Americans now have health care thanks to Obama. There are some flaws that need to be fixed, but, one of Trump’s first acts as President, was instead of trying to work out these imperfections, he signed an order to pave the way to repeal it.
Global Warming- Obama went to Paris last year and joined with the leaders of the world, pledging America’s support to help save our world. Trump and the Republicans don’t even acknowledge it exists, and his newly nominated man to deal with it, is a joke who is more interested in stripping Mother Nature of all her assets, purely for financial gain, than saving her. Imbeciles, charlatans.
You are blaming Obama for ISIS? What planet are you from?
Lest you forget, thanks to him, Bin Laden has been eradicated from the face of earth.
You don’t know how Trump won. A good question, considering he lost by over three million popular votes. But, this election was decided in Moscow, and when it is proven that Trump colluded with Putin, to encourage the hacking and contributions of monstrous funds used to win Trump the Presidency, you can kiss him goodbye.
People wanted change all right, but there is a new video on youtube called, “I Voted For Donald Trump, I’m So Sorry”. There are people who now realize the horrible mistake they made. He “Did it His Way” all right, “illegally”. Enjoy the ride while you can Mr. President, for your days are numbered. Hopefully, in the not too distant future, we’ll be saying those two words you made so very famous:

I have no interest in politics but I have observed that what is happening in the US is affecting the entire globe...To an extend I realise that politics affects us whether we're interested or not. This is quite an educative write Sweet Daddio...I think there's a pro Trump who doesn't approve of your writes...It's obvious...But the star rating shouldn't bother you...speak your mind as you're doing...Lovely write..You got my love and support...

That Trump supporter keeps anonymously leaving a one star rating. I have written a scathing poem called "The Coward of Cosmo", which I'm going to post tomorrow or Thursday. I, like you, had very little interest in politics until 2000, when we elected who I feel, was the worst President in history until now. Yet, I would choose him 100 out of 100 times over Trump. I'm glad you found my write informative and thank you for your love and support.

Thank you for reminding the world that all our lives have been made much safer because of Mr Obama`s good work and about what he did for the American citizens by working so hard to improve the lives of the poor and needy of your country.
I`m praying for all of you as I feel that Trump is going to cause the whole world to suffer because of his disgusting ego and his pure greed that is so obvious to the rest of humanity. Where are people supposed to live if such evil dictators destroy the planet because they are so greedy for money? It doesn`t make sense and that evil man needs to be stopped. I`m just praying that the devious things that he has done are proved and he finally gets his punishment. I`m also praying that he doesn`t cause another world war because I feel that he is going to go the same way as Hitler!

What an amazing provocative response. Your words hit the very core of what this monster is capable of. People throughout America are aware of his "evil ways", and are doing everything they can to see that he gets impeached and thrown out of office. Linda and I, like you, fear this trigger happy egomaniac could start a world war. Then, we might as well all bend over, place our heads on our knees, and kiss our asses goodbye. Never in it's history has the United States been in such a precarious position. We, like you, pray that he will be stopped before it is too late. "Putin's Puppet" must have his strings detached. Great write, Larry, your point of view is so riveting, and I'm looking forward to your poem addressing the one star bandit; I blame bad Russian vodka for his or hers' irrational behavior; I say if you want to put down someones' work grow a pair and make a comment, so disappointing! But never mind that BS, you speak well, my friend, and me being Canadian can't pick sides, but when the dust is settled Obama will be seen for what he is....America proved itself to be a great nation by electing him, black or white his message of 'yes we can!' resonated with millions of Americans across the board and the world noticed and respected what America is and can be....I know your feelings on Trump, he's getting a lot of love around these parts (at the moment) with the pipeline deal, 45000 Canadian jobs created....but we'll see how he unfurls, (I still think he's looking in the mirror wondering if it's just a dream) nonetheless, my friend you make a terrific argument, very few around here have your gift of intelligence, passion and articulation, well appreciated by this foreigner....be well, love your work, hugs
