Poem -

WHAT IS WAR FOR ?

WHAT IS WAR FOR ?

Horrified screaming, twisting, rolling

Of children, thirsty, hungry inside the tent.

Effort, in vain, of mothers to console

Out, under the hot sun, among the mob, squeeze

To grab a handful to eat.

      Innocent orphans expect their dads

Not known, them had been smashed.

From the eyes, the warm drops

Of the widows, deep sigh, within,

      While the glad moments memorized.

Thrown out to street

Not a centre to treat,

With almost injuries, least care, forsaken

The stretchy, vast, deserted land them before

The visible sky, above, the only roof.

      Insanity, pestilence and the diseases

      Too for the posterity.

Miseries, sorrows endless, last over years.

Have them turned to be refugees

But once, well established the families.

Hard work realized the dream homes,

Centuries old cultural heritages,

Museums, bridges, roads, tele-media

A moment's target, trembled,

Kissed all on the ground.

Oh world, disclose yourself,

Who is the winner ? what is the winning ?

Bodies over dead bodies, no a single to bury

Nothing, but the foul smell from the non buried heaps.

Is it the win ? Is it the gain ? Is it the fame ?

So many points are provided here. A great view on the horrors of what has gone on for centuries. Good writing.
