What You Left Behind
Based on a photograph I had to analyse
The wounds still haven't healed
It's been two years of pain
I've fought a losing battle
I'll forever be in vain
These scars tell the tale of war
A war that never ends
I can't stop myself from fighting
I guess I'll make time bend
The thought of you plagues my mind
Like the Black Death spreading through Europe
You unveil the beast inside me
I have no clue how you do it
Your eyes, your eyes, they shimmer in the night
Like stars in a clear black sky
Your lips, your lips, they're asking for a bite
But you always seem to deny
I dream of you and I speak of you
Through times of fun and misery
Since you left, I've yearned for you
But I don't think you've missed me
