Whatever Reality I Choose

Whatever Reality I Choose

I always knew I would be drowned in despair,
The world of my desperate reality
Giving me a grim actuality
Of life to live
When I would rather give
Myself away forever.

But something came to me
In my thoughts one night, you see,
I realised that all was not lost for me.
I have the strangest gift, you see,
Of having the capability
To live in whatever world I choose.

I can use the words to paint a world,
I am not stuck in this gross reality
Of daily life.
I can use the words from my heart
To weave a world of my choice,
Whatever reality I choose.

I repeat, to reassure
Myself that I am sure
It is true.
I can live in whatever reality
I choose,
Through my sculpting words.

Good poem, like the way you put it together, some nice phrasing.
