Poem -
WHEN?....
When,
Will the day come
Of freedom untangled
Of the subtle war fertilized
With the ring of our forefathers pursuits
Those who died
For the freedoms still being engaged
By white faces with colored clothing
And the angry tears of slavery
In the twenty-first century
By black faces with nobility born
Into the very DNA
Of goals
Falsely proclaimed
As
Victoriously completed
When,
All the while
The truth before us
Grows
Into the trusted names
Of corporate America
And dastardly deeds leaking
Into the sewers
Of self-righteous
Control
And drunken
Bravado
When,
Will the wanted
Equality
Of the many
Manifest
When,
Will my brothers
Be,
My brothers?.....

Absolutely heartbreaking and so very honest, this world needs to change as do the people in it. Few in the past have made this world horrid, filling it with hate and false ideas of superiority which we still cling to even if we swear that we are "above" that kind of thing.
