Poem -

WHEN I CAN LEAVE MY DOOR

I close my eyes and dream of a foreign shoreĀ
Something to focus on when I can leave my door
This foreign land has a clear and inviting sea
Somewhere I would very much like to beĀ

The sand doesn't stick to my bare legs and feet
Food freshly cooked and prepared a welcome treat
Don't get me wrong I love our fine nationĀ
It's just that I'm dreaming of a vacationĀ

When I can leave my door I cannot possibly say
I know that it's hard living like this every day
Just dream of that welcoming foreign placeĀ
Enough to put a smile on my worn out face
