Poem -

When I Stand- a Sestina

When all I know is said and done,

I stand ‘lone;

When all has come to sharpened closed,

I stand strong;

When all is finished and unwound,

I stand still.

When all sits on the window’s sill,

I stand done;

When all I hear is my heart’s pound,

I stand known;

When all the heartache lasts so long,

I stand posed.

When all is soft and all have dozed,

I stand ill;

When all that sings bursts out in song,

I stand won;

When all the earth lets forth one moan,

I stand ‘round.

When all I see is that cursed mound,

I stand rosed.

When all is sick and white as bone,

I stand ‘till.

When all that lives has turned and run,

I stand wrong.

When all the bells proclaim with dong,

I stand sound.

When all the wind proclaims it’s fun,

I stand hosed.

When all the air enters to chill,

I stand sewn.

When all I see is all I own,

I stand gong.

When all is churned up mill by mill,

I stand bound.

When I all say is held opposed,

I stand gun.

At the end of this strong in none,

The end of this still zone enclosed,

I stand found.
