When Love Walks Away

When Love Walks Away

If love was meant to last, why does it fade,
Leaving behind memories, shattered and afraid?

Why does the one we held so tight,

Slip from our grasp, into the night?

We reach out, desperate, hoping to keep,

But in the silence, the promises weep.

They walk away, and we’re left behind,

With broken dreams, and a shattered mind.

Where do we hide all the tears we cry,

When the world sees only the smile we try?

A smile that shields the storm inside,

While we die a little, with each step they glide.

If love is true, why does it end,

Leaving us to wonder, to break, to bend?

The heartache lingers, a ghost we can't flee,

The love that was, now lost in the sea.

Yet in this pain, we learn and grow,

Through every tear, through every blow.

For though love fades, the strength remains,

To rise again, beyond the pain.
