WHEN NIGHTTIME COMES

If you saw a man that appeared with holes in his jacket...
Worn out soles with holes in his socks too...
Feet cold and ready to lose some toes...
Would you tell him to get a job after you called him a slob?
You stink man...
You need a shower damn!
No money for a room...
No way to get warm on a cold winter's night...
What if it was a little child and was told money ran out you better leave if you're gonna survive?
A child asks another what's your story?
Let's sit under the bridge to get out of the wind...
I had to grab my sweater and my Dolly 'cause Mama left me for a Man...
What will happen to us?
Will anyone help us?
I have been out here over a month ain't no one noticed me yet...
What's that man's story?
Good 'ole Joe...
He's been here awhile...
If you sit and watch a minute someone will throw him an half empty cup or some trash as they go by...
They get him all wet and laugh at him...
He just smiles, but I would probably cry...
I'm scared...
Here take my Dolly she'll keep you company...
Where are you going?
When nighttime comes I become a woman...
Hugs...

very well written and on a subject I feel our country needs to address more , being homeless don't make you a bum take time and listen to ones story , very good poem thank you
Hello Darrin...
It's a problem everywhere and getting worse all the time...
Many I have spoken with I have heard several times from different people how they had a career, a home and treated the homeless with disrespect and would just pass them by...
Now, they find themselves in unfamiliar territory and never thought they would ever find themselves there...
Those stories are sad, but sometimes people don't see that we can learn things the hard way...
There are very sad stories that's for sure...
Children are just the ones who have no control and theirs are the saddest of all...
Thank you for your comment and support!
