Poem -

When the dawn breaks

When the dawn breaks

Are you coming, cuckoo, with me

to sit onĀ the shoulder of wind Ā

and to singĀ a songĀ

when the dawn breaks,

and fragrance spreads around?

Are you coming, cuckoo, with me

to take bathe in the river,

to formĀ  garland of flowers,

to rideĀ in a flowery boat?

Are you coming, cuckoo, with me

to singĀ a song, sitting on the branch

of a peepal tree by the temple jetty,

and to meetĀ my deity there?

Are you coming, cuckoo, with me

to garland him,

To get back a tight kiss in return,

and to return home Ā smiling?

I can’t Ā postpone it for tomorrow,

no no, should be done right now,

here I’m Ā running, unnoticed!

Are you coming, cuckoo, with me?
