Poem -

WHEN THE FLOODS CAME

What to do first when the floods came
No time to consider who was to blame
Father was brave and mother cried
Our house sinking starting to subside

Sandbags didn't help when the floods came
All of us taking part in the salvation game
What to save first proved so very hard
Pocessions destroyed ,battered and scarred

Didn't see my neighbours when the floods came
No time for goodbyes such a terrible shame
One box taken and my family on our way
We will always remember this fateful day
