When Two Roads Diverge

If the great Robert Frost
himself, was right
and two roads really did diverge
leaving me a choiceĀ
following the one I thought was right
how would I ever know
which one I should really choose?
and so
my reflection beginsā¦
Ā
if they were both painted in colour?
blue and green
Ā
well, green was the favorite colour of myĀ best friendĀ
I use the term was, because she is no longer here on earth
and blue because itās my lucky colour
along with the number fifteen
so if I chose the green oneĀ
would I be completely
respecting my best friend who died?
trusting a ghost that I will always love?
trusting it was lucky for her?
or respecting my very own good luck?Ā
and if I chose the blue one
for my very own selfish reasons
and it didn't work outĀ
would I always wish
I'd chosen the green?Ā
because green is the colour
that remind me of her face?
Ā
I can certainly tell you this
sometimesā¦
life's conundrums are surely wasted
on a poet.

When i had to write an essay about for my Sensei grading, i indulged on the topic Choices. I think you & I are the fortunate ones who have a choice. Many people out there donāt have the luxury of a choice. Wonderful reflection Shirley! I can imagine what went on in your clever head.Ā
It might be the first time I've ever been called clever, š¤£ . I guess I'm old enough to know that the choices we make don't always come out in favour of our hopes but if we have the chance as you have rightly said we are indeed lucky. Thank you dear Bernadete š¹
HiĀ Shirley,
Interesting topic.Ā I agree with Bernadete.
Personally I actually believe that one's fate is "preassigned" by God.
Cheers,
Yiyan
I'm not a believer in god, but I do believe we all have the right to believe, I believe in fate. Thank you sir. š¹Ā
