When we were young ( song by yours truly) as popularized by Adele

Everything has changed but we have not
Going back to High School days didn't take a lot
Love lingers, often softens goodbyes
Haven't seen you in a long time
Hope seeing you back with the same look in your eyes
When we were young, we climbed on trees
We never had any of these:
Starbucks Coffee, laptops-
No pollutions and traffic monotone
Only a ' two-wheeled ' transport of our own
The ' only' we've ever known
I miss those years just you and me
So vibrant, wild, and free
We danced, talked all night long
But something went wrong
You had to leave me alone
So tired of these empty feelings
And cried a hundred years
When you moved overseas-
Scared to face my fears
I'm drowning in my tears
Am I stuck in the past?
Hope this is not going to last
Because everything was a lie
But, for love's sake this is worth a try
I shall take a photograph and capture the precious days that I have met you.

Thank you
Thank you
There is a great sadness threaded throughout this particular poem & I am left with a feeling that there is more than just an element of self disclosure contained within ..
Neville

thank you
U R most welcome Leah ..
I could almost hear it~
Thank you
A yearning poem, a longing poem and if reading between the lines a personal poem with feelings never to diminish or it's passionate colour's to ebb or fade.
Oh how we all wish to go back and relive them, for one day or for one minute, knowing if we could we would then know whatever is offered, to make it last a cherished lifetime.
An involving, engaging poem and one of also hopelessness that draws a reader in wishing a bid time return to those halcyon, innocent, carefree days and doesn't let go.
And I like so many and your good self are still wishing.
Thank you for a trip down memory lane and for sharing Leah.
And so beautifully woven.
