When You Wish Upon A Star

When You Wish Upon A Star

One night I wished upon a star, as I was feeling very blue;

I asked that I could soon find love; the next night it sent me “you”!

I wavered in my plans that eve, shall I go, or shall I not;

But it sent an inkling into my mind, then guided me to the spot!

It brought me to a giant hall, where singles came to dance;

With dreams that never would come true, of finding true romance!

Six hundred plus were there that night, hot women wall to wall;

I said “I’ll get to dance a lot, and have myself a ball”!

I saw a lass that turned me on, we danced for quite a while;

She gave to me her phone number; then left with a sweet smile!

And then I saw a beam of light, shining down, upon a girl;

An angels’ face, a body lean, long hair with gentle curl!

She looked my way and smiled at me, my heart began to throb;

I asked her if she’d like to dance, praying, she would not make me sob!

She said “of course”, then took my hand, and we danced the night away;

We kissed goodbye at two a.m., I said I’d call her this very day!

True to words, at ten a.m., I called to make a date;

For seven p.m., on that same night, I paced, each hour I had to wait!

I picked her up and off we drove, two soulmates bound for love;

Now for twenty years plus three we’ve danced, “twinkle, twinkle star above”!

That is such a beautiful love poem for your lovely Linda and I`m sure she must be blushing and feeling like a school girl all over again sweetie. Geoff and I have just celebrated our 31st anniversary on the first of this month and I often think of the wonderful time when we met, it was me that chatted him up because I fell in love at first sight. He`s 6ft 2 but I`m only 5ft so I call him my very own mountain because I can hide behind him! He`s given me 6 beautiful children, 4 boys and 2 girls and they in turn have given us 13 grandchildren and I adore all of them, so I know how happy you two make each other too and I send my love and wish you many, many more years of love and happiness sweetie. Well done for giving Linda a beautiful love poem.

I love you both

G xx

Dearest Georgina,

Another proof of predestination; your anniversary, June 1st, is on the same day that my dearly departed younger sister was born, in nineteen fifty-three.  Even more amazing, it is the very day of your dear Queen Elizabeth's Coronation.  It took a long time, but I think the stars decided quite a while ago that somehow, we should meet.  These unbelievable bonds that we share, are far too paralleled to believe that it was not our destiny to finally cross paths.

Hugs, Kisses, Peace and Love,

Linda and Larry
