Poem -

Where are the tears?

Where are the tears?

Once upon a time there were footprints here
Of races of people and species that are gone now
And where are the tears?
There are none, because too few people care,
The inca's dissappeared killed by greed and fear
Their presence or their footprints are no longer been seen here,
White and black rhinos no longer exists,
The last of them died in 2018
Killed by greed and for ivory
Their presence or their footprint are no longer seen here
So many species on land and in the air and seas
Have disappeared and no longer exist
Their presence or their footprint are no longer be seen here
But where are the tears?
There are none, because to few people care,
How long will it be before other races are gone?
How much of the animal Kingdom
Be forced further into extinction?
Through ignorance and greed
Until so many no longer exist here
Their presence or their footprint are no longer be seen here
But where are the tears?
There are none, because to few people care,
Humanity has to change its ways step back from greed
And it's over populating ways
Clean up its act and stop polluting
Or one day
Our presence or our footprint will no longer be seen here
But where will be the tears?
There are none, because there will be people care.

Wow! Say it louder for the people that act deaf, brilliantly woven and so powerful I am taken aback 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 this deserves so much more credit! It's one of the most important messages for today's society, people aren't aware how their actions and consumptions impact other life (and seem to care less and less). Very saddening to see, there needs to be an awakening. Thank you for bringing light to this Faux, pinned🙏🏽

Thank you very much for reading and understanding how important the message is. Sadly though too few people are aware or awake enough to get this like you do or get the imminent danger we are all in due to climate change and species extinction. Faux

People carry on unaware as if David Attenboroughs message doesn't apply to them. 12 years to avert unreversable climate change. Surely that doesn't apply to me? I'll just keep polluting and watching TV. The reality is it applies to each and every one if us to do what we can to reduce our carbon footprint and save our planet for future generations.  Great thought provoking write.  DD X

Well, I am slightly sad to say that there are consequences and before long, we will not be here either. You reap what you sow. Great poem.  Barry x
